This session features inspiring picture books that depict amazingly resilient women who, through hard work and good decision making, overcame difficult life-defining challenges. The economic concepts covered include choice, costs & benefits, opportunity cost, and investing in human capital. Classroom ready lessons, activities, and resources will be provided for each of the books. Titles include: “Helen’s Big World: The Life of Helen Keller”, “Wilma Unlimited: How Wilma Rudolph Became the World’s Fastest Woman”, The Girl Who Thought in Pictures: The Story of Dr. Temple Grandin”, and “Wilma’s Way Home: The Life of Wilma Mankiller.”
