Teachers will be able to:
– Critically think about how they can adjust their instruction to be disruptive to historical patterns.
– Critically think about how they can disrupt historical patterns in their own, day to day lives.
This video is available to view for EconEdLink members only.
In this webinar, review how we wrestle with racism, patriarchy and poverty and how educators can help break our historical patterns.
We will briefly unpack the legacy of important American themes, and how their impact on our society have evolved over time, followed by how schools have contributed to their persistence. We will then begin to think about how as educators we can create lessons, as well as systems and structures, to disrupt the patterns and rhymes of the history we have explored.
