This presentation challenges teachers and leaders to clearly define what we believe about learning and students because beliefs always impact our actions. Based on Carol Dweck’s seminal research on mindsets, this presentation focuses on important applications of clearly defined beliefs and their impact on education in general and on social studies teachers in particular. Illustrating the ideas, concepts, and applications with stories from the classroom and experiences in life, the presentation will challenge everyone to apply what they learn in a professional and personal context.
