Banks, labor unions, markets, corporations, legal systems, and not-for-profit organizations are examples of important institutions. A different kind of institution, clearly defined and enforced property rights, is essential to a market economy.
- Students will be able to use this knowledge to: Describe the roles of various economic institutions and explain the importance of property rights in a market economy.

This individual activity requires students to explore the services provided by nonprofit organization in their community. Students will select a nonprofit organization based in your community to research and then complete either the Quizizz Activity or ReadyAssessment Activity.To complete this activity, students should follow the directions below:
- Select a nonprofit organization based in your community or one that provides services for your local area.
- Search online for the organization’s website.
- Use the information on its site and answer these questions in either the Quizizz Activity or ReadyAssessment Activity.
